A breakthrough in documenting Rouge Waves?

Shortly after 3:20pm on New Year's Day in 1995, a monster wave crashed into the Draupner oil platform in the North Sea off the coast of Norway. The wave would alter oceanography forever. Rouge, or freak waves have been known among mariners for centuries but have been a mystery to science. Now a new research project will try to photograph them for the first time in 3D.
